HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) say they are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred around 3 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, on Waterman Drive.
In a release, HPD says officers were dispatched to a commercial alarm in progress at Best Veterinary Services on Waterman Drive. As officers were checking the premises, they found a Ford F-150 truck on its side that had crashed into the building, triggering the alarm.
The driver, 40-year-old Jeremy Grear of Harrisonburg, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was extracted from the vehicle and is receiving care at Sentara RMH.
An investigation into the crash is currently ongoing, and additional information is unavailable. The HPD Accident Reconstruction Team and the Harrisonburg Fire Department also responded to the scene and are still collecting information to determine the exact circumstances that led to the crash.
