HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Harrisonburg Police Department is recruiting and, potentially, letting new officers bring their friends onto the force as well.
In a social media post on Monday, the HPD announced its ‘Buddy Program.’ According to the post, the program is open to certified police officers looking to make a lateral transfer to the Friendly City’s police force.
This is how it works – if two officers from the same agency are both hired by HPD, they guarantee the two will work the same shift together for the first year of employment.
Those interested in joining the HPD and have questions about the Buddy Program can call 540-432-8900 or visit harrisonburgva.gov/police.
