HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for most of the Commonwealth until Thursday, June 26, at 7pm.

Heat index values will be up to 109 east of the Blue Ridge and up to 104 west of the Blue Ridge. Portions of DC, central, north central, northeast, northern, southern, and western Maryland, central, northern, northwest, and western Virginia, and eastern and panhandle West Virginia are all including in the advisory.

These hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses so take the necessary steps for prevention.
