HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – The Harrisonburg School Board approved edits to the Collective Bargaining Resolution at last night’s work session.

The resolution recognizes the rights of school employees to organize, form, join or assist an employee association, as well as to engage in collective bargaining on issues related to wages, hours, benefits, safety, and other employment conditions.

According to Chief of Staff, Sal Romero, the resolution included edits from the panel. One of them was a section on “confidential employees.” This would apply to any employee that would work confidentially in terms of labor.

Other edits were technical such as capitalizing “Employees” and removing Administrative Personnel under Education Support Personnel in the Definitions section of the document.

The vote was unanimous.
