HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Elementary schools in Harrisonburg will increase by five minutes a day going forward.
That decision was made on Friday during a special Harrisonburg City School Board meeting.
It’s a change from a decision that was made last month by the school board to extend the day by 15 minutes.
Incidentally, school officials may still have to add another day to the school calendar to meet the required 990 hours needed for the school year.
Of course, if there is more time missed due to inclement weather, that could prompt further changes to the school schedule.
