HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The city of Harrisonburg and Harrisonburg City Public Schools hosted their first ever town hall meeting on the topic of school safety this week.
Superintendent Dr. Michael Richards explained Monday evening at Rocktown High School that they have presented the same information at school board meetings. So, to some, it should be familiar.
“What we plan to do is twice a year – once in the fall, once in the spring – we plan to go through our protocols, especially focusing on new things that we may add along the way, but also reviewing everything that we do,” Richards said.
Richards discussed the situation last month that forced school officials to cancel classes at Rocktown and Harrisonburg High Schools for a day.
