Hazel Alise Wilkinson Jones, aged 92, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024. Born on June 4, 1932, in Ringgold, Virginia, Hazel was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend to many.

Hazel was married to the love of her life, Graham Leonard Jones, for 55 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Graham preceded her in death, but their love story remains an inspiration to all who knew them.

A full-time homemaker and part-time piano teacher, Hazel volunteered as the pianist at Brookneal Baptist Church, where her music touched the hearts of many. Hazel’s dedication to her faith and her community was evident in her 41 years of service, and she will be fondly remembered for her beautiful contributions to the church’s music ministry.

Hazel’s legacy lives on through her four children and their families:

● Mark Graham Jones and his wife Maryann, residing in Kelso, WA.

● Alan Leonard Jones and his wife Mary, residing in Richmond, VA.

● Ronald Scott Jones and his wife Diane, residing in Greensboro, NC.

● Susan Jones Rebhun and her husband Rick, residing in Harrisonburg, VA.

In addition, Hazel was proud of and dearly loved her eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. They brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

A visitation and celebration of Hazel’s life will be held at Brookneal Baptist Church fellowship hall on Sunday June 30, 2024, from 2pm-4pm. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor her memory and celebrate the remarkable life she lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the VMRC Foundation Compassion Fund. Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community (VMRC) is where Hazel spent the last several years of her life and she thrived in the community of love and support that she found there.
