Harry Edward Hedrick, 87, of Mount Solon, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Hedrick was born on April 7, 1936, in Fincastle, VA and was a son of the late Sylvia Hedrick. Harry was a longtime and very active member of Landmark Tabernacle in McGaheysville, where he served as Adult Sunday School Teacher and Trustee. He enjoyed reading his bible, hunting, fishing, and working on cars. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends. Harry served in the United States Air Force for 24 years before his retirement. He achieved the rank of Tech Sergeant. Following his retirement, Harry worked for AMP and drove a truck for I.D.M. Trucking.

On July 3, 1962, he married Brenda Jean Via, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by three children, Loretta Meadows and husband, Calvin of Verona, Lori Turner and husband, Butch of Broadway, Michael Hedrick and wife, Janet of Churchville; daughter in law, Bernice Hedrick; one brother; three sisters; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tony and Missy Dovel and MacKenzie, Jack and Shirley Nicely.

Harry was also preceded in death by a son, Brian Hedrick; a granddaughter, Angel Dawn Hedrick; five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1 p.m., at Landmark Tabernacle with Pastor Derek Jones and Associate Pastor Tony Dovel officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McGaheysville.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 12 until 1 p.m., at the church prior to the service.
