HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – A Harrisonburg woman who sued a Shenandoah County poultry company after she was fired has settled out of court.
Tania Cortes filed a motion Tuesday in U-S District Court in Harrisonburg to have her lawsuit dropped with prejudice.
The 36-year-old Cortes had filed a 19-page lawsuit back in October against New Market Poultry L-L-C after she was terminated from her position back in August of 2023.
In the suit, Cortes claimed that she was fired after refusing to enter into a personal relationship with the general manager.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
