HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg Salvation Army has announced the results of this year’s Red Kettle campaign.
According to a release, 2024 was a challenging year for the fundraising effort with insufficient volunteer bell ringers and donations stuck at 39% of the $190,000 goal with little over a week left in the campaign.
However, in those final 11 days, Harrisonburg and Rockingham County donors pushed the grand total of funds raised to 93% of the goal – that’s over $177,000 – exceeding last year’s total by over $500.
Lieutenant Douglas Ingold thanks the community for so generously supporting the Salvation Army.
