HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – This weekend is the 28th Annual Harrisonburg-Rockingham African American Festival at Ralph Sampson Park.Terry Jones, one of the coordinators of the festival, was on WSVA’s Early Mornings and told host Jim Britt that the event continues to grow each year.
“It’s fascinating – we started in 1993 and it has grown every year since then,” Jones said. “The community has been very, very receptive to this event and sponsors as well. You know, we look forward to it every year.”
The event will run Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and will include music, food vendors as well as activities for children such as First Tee.
