HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg residents have until the end of January to get a dog license if they don’t already have one.
Dog licenses are required by Harrisonburg City Code 15-2-8–“There shall be an annual license tax imposed upon the ownership of dogs within the city in accordance with §§ 29-213.56 through 29-213.58 of the Code of Virginia as amended to date. The dog owner, if qualified, can request a tag for the duration of 1, 2 or 3 years.”
Owners must present a valid rabies certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian for each dog they have.
