HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg Police Department says to say off roads unless absolutely necessary.

In a post on social media, HPD says they are seeing an influx of traffic crashes and disabled vehicles due to current road conditions, and snow is only going to continue to fall, adding to the total accumulation.

Police say if you are in a vehicle crash and there are no injuries, movie your vehicle off the roadway and call 911 to report the accident. Then follow the instructions of the emergency communicator. If there is a delayed response or no response by police due to priority calls, exchange information for insurance purposes, then call your insurance company as soon as possible. If the crash involves injury, immediately call 911 and do not move your vehicle, police will respond to your location.

As of 5:15pm, Harrisonburg officials say roads are rapidly deteriorating as snowfall increases.
