HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg Planning Commission voted last night to not recommend approval for the proposed apartment complex formerly known as “The Link.”
City Council returned the proposal to the Commission back in April due to a growing list of changes accumulated since the plan was originally recommended for approval in July of last year.
In a 3-3 vote, the Commission rejected the latest attempt to rezone nearly 3 acres along South Main Street and South Liberty Street for the complex now known as “The Lindsey,” a plan that shortened the original height of the structure from 6 stories to 4 and reduced the number of units, bedrooms, and parking spaces by roughly one hundred in each instance.
The Harrisonburg City Council will reconsider the proposal at their August 25th meeting.
