HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation is holding the second of three open house meetings next week aimed at fine-tuning the design of a new water feature at Ralph Sampson Park.
The informational meeting is set for next Wednesday evening, May 15, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lucy Simms Center.
City communications director Michael Parks says that this will be a progress report about what will soon be known as the Spraygrounds.
“You know shelter spaces, bike racks, extra parking, things like that that we heard at that first public meeting,” Parks said. “This will be a chance for the public to see that we heard what you said, we’ve incorporated that into the layout of the expansion of Ralph Sampson Park, here’s where we’re thinking about putting those things. What do you think? What would you like to see added? Where do we go from here?”
Parks adds that planners will try to include the input received on Wednesday into the project’s final proposed design, which is expected to be revealed during a third open house meeting next month.
