HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – It is 10 years in jail for the Harrisonburg man who authorities say was responsible a mysterious death last summer.

According to online records, Aaron Christopher Gordon Junior was sentenced to 10 years in prison during a hearing Monday afternoon in Rockingham County Circuit Court.

A jury convicted the Gordon, 25, of amended charge of voluntary manslaughter back in July. He was charged with first-degree murder following the death of Towan Julian Cappell, whose body was found at an Eastover Drive construction site on Aug. 18, 2022.

Gordon will also have to pay nearly $12,000 in restitution.
