HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Harrisonburg man was hospitalized this morning after an accidental shooting at a pawn shop.

Police Lieutenant Chris Monohan explains that the incident happened at around 10:30 AM at JBS Pawn Shop on South Main Street.

“Earlier this morning, an individual had entered the pawn shop and had a personal firearm. In the process of taking that firearm out of the holster to go over some accessories, there was an accidental discharge. Discharge struck only him, caused minor injuries, and he went to RMH for treatment,” said Monohan.

Monohan says the incident remains under investigation.
