HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg City School Board discussed their CTE program redesign during last night’s work session.

The presentation comes after the school board made the decision to withdraw from the Massanutten Technical Center Agreement with Rockingham County effective 2027.

Superintendent Dr. Michael Richards said CTE is a very important part of their offerings for their students.

“We see this task as urgent, that we put together a program that has access and opportunity for our students that is based in the local community needs,” said Dr. Richards. “Also, it offers opportunities for students to be competitive in the workforce when they leave.”

Dr. Richards also emphasized the community support HCPS receives and is proud to be a part of that community.
