HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg City Council held a public hearing during last night’s meeting regarding a proposal for a large apartment complex, which would require three acres to be rezoned around South Main and Liberty Streets.
Several speakers gave their opinion during the public hearing with the majority being against the six-story complex that would be called “The Link.”
Vice Mayor Danny Fleming made a motion to facilitate a process to involve developers and residents in a discussion around the project.
“I’ll put at this time a proposed deadline of September 23rd,” said Fleming. “Let the process go through and then staff can work with potentially a facilitator and design a process for that.”
The vote for the motion passed unanimously.
