HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – The Harrisonburg City Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget by approving the Appropriation Ordinance during last night’s meeting.
According to documents presented during the meeting, the Total Amended Proposed Revenue Budget is a total of $416,439,057.
The budget includes a school nutrition fund, a sanitation fund, and a Community Development Block Grant Fund, in which the action plan was also approved.
Vice Mayor Dany Fleming made note of the changes to the proposed budget.
“The schools, they got less from the State in this projection,” said Fleming. “But it balanced the budget as presented. I appreciate that.”
The Council also approved the real estate tax rate for the fiscal year to be set at $1.01 per $100 of assessed value.
