HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg has been awarded for its Downtown Duckling project.
The website Virginia Main Street has awarded the Friendly City with the 2024 Impactful Placemaking Merit Award for the duckling project which sent folks on a scavenger hunt around downtown to find one large and eight small bronze duck statues.
The award highlights a community’s physical and visual transformation by recognizing a project that bolsters the downtown’s uniqueness.
The ducklings pay ohmage to downtown Harrisonburg’s duck population that live along Blacks Run creek.
