Guy N. Rawley, 88, of Mount Solon, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024 at his home. He was born on April 3, 1936, and was a son of the late Robert and Myree (Michael) Rawley. A dedicated craftsman and proud owner of the Rawley Cabinet Shop, Guy was known for his remarkable skills in woodworking and his commitment to quality and craftsmanship. He was a member of the Mount Solon Pentecostal Church, past-president of the North River Telephone co-op, and a common contributor to the WSVA‘s weather reports. Guy was united in marriage to Alma Elizabeth Rawley, who preceded him in death. Guy is lovingly remembered by his children, Jeff (Lisa) Rawley, and Nancy (Jeryl) Benner; five grandchildren, Tim (Andrea) Rawley, Justin (Hannah) Rawley, Phillip Benner, Alexis Benner, and Michael Benner; three great-grandchildren who gave him immense joy, Kaylee Rawley, Drew Rawley, and Lexie Rawley; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Nelson and Ruby Cherry; brothers, Harry, Eugene, and Robert Rawley. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Tuesday, Dec, 3, 2024 at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater, providing an opportunity for those to gather and share their memories of Guy. A service celebrating Guy’s life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Mount Solon Pentecostal Church, with Rev. Charles David Clinedinst officiating. Burial will be private.
