GROTTOES, VA (Rocktown Now) – McDonald’s broke ground in the Town of Grottoes today.

Local residents joined Town Councilmembers and chain representatives Thursday morning for the official groundbreaking ceremony at the restaurant’s future site on Augusta Avenue.

Mayor Jo Plaster said bringing the McDonald’s franchise to Grottoes has been a team effort.

“It has taken four years for us to get this to come together, but it hasn’t been just me,” the Mayor explained. “It’s been all of us of collaborating and communicating: our public works, our Town Manager, and our Council just to get this underway.”

The popular fast-food company closed on the property just off Route 340 back in September.

Scheduled for completion early next year, the new McDonald’s location will seat up to 32 patrons and will feature a full-service drive-through.
