GREENE COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) – The Greene County Sheriff’s Office states that a man is in custody on child pornography charges.

According to a news release, the sheriff’s office received information about someone from Greene County that had downloaded sexual images involving juveniles.

After an investigation, authorities were able to identify Steven Kyle Edward Smith as the suspect and last Friday, deputies executed a search warrant at his temporary home in Madison County.

The 33-year-old Smith was not there at the time, but he was eventually arrested in Culpeper and charged with possession of child pornography as well as taking indecent liberties with a minor.

He is currently being held without bond.
