FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Governor Abigail Spanberger vetoed legislation for a casino in Fairfax County.

The bill faced little support from Northern Virginia lawmakers, with the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and an overwhelming majority of General Assembly members opposing it.

The proposed casino location in Tysons has been a point of contention, with the bill changing multiple times before returning to its original plan.

Meanwhile, the bill’s patron, Eastern Fairfax Senator, and JMU graduate, Scott Surovell, said in a statement that he was deeply disappointed in the governor’s veto.
