George Benton Stickley, Jr., 89, formerly of Winchester and more recently Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

Born February 28, 1935, George was the son of the late George Benton, Sr., and Roberta Stickley.

George was an insurance agent for over 40 years, retiring from New York Life Insurance Company. He was an avid supporter of John Handley High School athletics, a longtime member of the Winchester Kiwanis Club and a former member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Winchester, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. George was a current member of the Massanutten Presbyterian Church.

Most importantly, George was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda; daughter Susan Mallon and husband, Jim; son, Randy and wife Donna; sister Janice Buchanan; grandchildren, Jimmy Mallon and wife, Heather, Molly Mallon and fiancée, Karen, Benton Stickley and wife, Ashley, Claire Stickley and Sarah Stickley as well as great-grandchildren, June, Mabel and Rosemary Stickley.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Sunnyside Retirement Communities Meredith Chapel in Harrisonburg.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, VA.
