Gail Lynn (Brown) Bitsko, 55, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at her residence.

Gail was born on August 1, 1968 in Lancaster, PA and was a daughter of the late Joanne (Fitzkee) Brown and surviving Alan Brown.

Gail worked as a preschool teacher aide at Building Blocks Preschool for many years. She was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she taught religious education. Gail enjoyed photography, reading, spending time by the pool, and being involved with her daughters’ dance activities. She loved spending time at the beach, mostly at Ocean City, MD and Virginia Beach. Her greatest enjoyment came from being a wife and mom to her two daughters. Family was most important to Gail.

Gail is survived by her husband, Charles Matthew Bitsko, who she married on October 22, 1994. They would have celebrated 30 years of marriage this upcoming October.

In addition to her husband, Gail is survived by her beloved daughters, Kristen Nicole Bitsko of Fredericksburg, VA, Faith Anne Bitsko of Harrisonburg, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce Eshleman and Lynn Brown.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 5 until 7 p.m., at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. The casket will remain closed.
