STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Frontier Culture Museum is hosting their annual Flag Day event this Saturday, June 14.
In the tailors’ shop at the German farm, staff will be trying to create a flag in a day. This year, the staff will be recreating the Culpeper Minutemen flag. This allows the staff to discuss how military units in the Shenandoah Valley organized and marched north to New England before, during and after the B-Line March. Flags such as the Culpeper Minutemen Flag helped identify and distinguish the army from the others.
The Museum will offer hands-on activities for guests to help connect with this specific era in our nation’s history.
This event is free to the public and will be from 9:00am until 5:00pm.
