Frederick “Skip” Anderson Klaburner Jr., 81, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at his home.
Skip was born on March 28, 1942, in Maryland, and was a son of the late Frederick Anderson Klaburner, Sr. and Clara Susan Barnes Klaburner. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Anderson Klaburner.
After graduating from The University of Maryland at College Park, Skip met Mary Yearta and they have been united in marriage for the past 51 years. While employed as a software engineer, his career relocated he and his family to Florida, Arizona and Pennsylvania. In the late 1990’s he retired to Tallahassee, Florida before moving to the Valley in 2004 where he helped the community by teaching ESL with Skyline Literacy. In his spare time, Skip enjoyed playing the banjo and guitar and he was quite the handyman with the ability to build and fix anything.
In addition to his wife, Skip is also survived by two daughters, Suzanne All and husband, Jeff of Florida and Elizabeth Schindler and husband, Mike of Pennsylvania; sister, Norma Watts; grandchildren, Jessica All, Cole Anderson Schindler, Chloe Annabel Schindler, Devin B. Klaburner, Meaghan N. Klaburner and Nicholas Freas.
