FREDERICK COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) – Earlier this week, a student at a school in the Northern Shenandoah Valley was found to have a handgun in his backpack.
Mark Richardson, 54, and Camille Richardson, 51, both of Frederick County, were arrested on a charge of allowing access to firearms by children today, March 21, 2025.
Mark Richardson was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The charges stemmed from an incident Thursday when a handgun was found in a backpack being carried by an 8-year-old boy who was in the cafeteria of Jordan Springs Elementary School near Winchester.
No injuries were reported and Sheriff Lenny Millholland stated that additional charges are being pursued.
