Francis Gary “Willie” Hulse, 76, of Broadway, Virginia, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, at Sentara RMH Medical Center. Born July 6, 1948, in Andover, New York, he was the son of the late Clair and Edna Baker Hulse.
Francis was an over the road truck driver throughout his working career. He worked for I. D. McCary for 20 years before becoming and owner operator. He enjoyed playing the 12-sting guitar, singing, and playing in the band, The Loose Ends. Francis also enjoyed working on automobiles, especially his drag car (Mamma’s Headache), watching the Buffalo Bills, listening to Eric Church, and sitting on the front porch while visiting with family and friends. Surviving is his wife of 40 Years, Virginia Ann Michael Hulse. Also surviving are a son, Theodore “Ted” Hulse and wife, Miranda; three grandchildren, Brent Hulse, Gracie Hulse, and Macie Kate Hulse; a great-grandchild, Cash Fulk; one brother, Lawrence Hulse and wife, Rosy; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gordon Hulse, Lyle Hulse, and Ronnie Hulse and a sister, Gertrude Cole.A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Lay Minister Stanley Michael officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
