DAYTON VA. (Rocktown Now) — Fort Harrison is hosting their 2025 Colonial Trades Fair this Saturday, June 21.
The fair is free admission and is from 10:00am until 3:00pm.
Learn how 18th century colonial trade contributed to the settlement of the Shenandoah Valley.
At the event, there will be demonstrations of:
- White oak basketmaking
- Flintknapping
- Colonial medicine and surgery
- Spinning and weaving
- Tape loom weaving
- Farrier
- Smoked food preservation
- Broom making
- Pottery
- Blacksmithing and more!
Handcrafted items are available for purchase at the event. Food is available to attendees, and it is a kid-friendly fair.
The fair is located at 335 Main Street, Dayton, VA. Inside of the Daniel Harrison house built in 1749.
