WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Waynesboro Police Department has arrested a former Waynesboro resident for 25 charges related to child pornography.

On March 18, 2026, the Waynesboro Police Department, with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, in Augusta County, followed a multi-month investigation into the alleged possession and distribution of child pornography in the Frye Street area of Waynesboro.

According to a release, the investigation began on December 3, 2025, when the Waynesboro Police Department received a cyber tip alleging this illegal activity.

35-year-old Norman R. Goodman III faces 25 alleged violations of the Code of Virginia:

  • §18.2-374.1:1: Possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation, and facilitation of child pornography (1 Felony count)
  • §18.2-374.1:1: Possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation, and facilitation of child pornography; second or subsequent offense (24 Felony counts)

Goodman is currently being held at Middle River Regional Jail.
