FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (JMU Athletics) – Former James Madison defensive lineman Jamree Kromah has signed with the New England Patriots and been added to the franchise’s 53-man roster, the organization announced Wednesday.

Kromah was signed off the Chicago Bears’ practice squad, as he had been in the Windy City since signing there after the NFL Draft.

The Glenarden, Md., native was a 2023 HERO Sports Group of Five First Team All-American and First Team All-Sun Belt selection. In 13 starts last season, he tallied 60 tackles to go with 20.5 tackles for loss, 11.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Playing both on the interior and the edge, Kromah ranked tied for second in the FCS with a Sun Belt-leading in tackles for loss. His 11.0 sacks also ranked eighth nationally and third in the conference. Kromah had a career-high 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks at Georgia State while also registering 3.0 TFL and a pair of sacks at Virginia.

Kromah had 1.5 TFL or more in seven games and produced at least a full sack in the same number of contests. Following the season, Kromah was selected to the 99th annual East-West Shrine Bowl.

He is one of five players currently signed to an NFL roster and joins Aaron Stinnie (New York Giants) as one of two Dukes on 53-man rosters entering week three of the season.
