ARLINGTON, Texas (JMU Athletics) – James Madison defensive lineman Jamree Kromah was selected by the San Antonio Brahmas in the fifth round with the 39th overall pick in the 2024 United Football League College Draft.
Kromah capped off his JMU career in 2023 as a HERO Sports Group of Five First Team All-American and First Team All-Sun Belt Conference honoree. In 13 starts last fall, he tallied 60 tackles to go with 20.5 tackles for loss, 11.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
The Glenarden, Md., native ranked tied for second in the FBS with a Sun Belt-leading 20.5 TFL. His 11.0 sacks also ranked eighth nationally and third in the conference. Kromah had a career-high 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks at Georgia State while also registering 3.0 TFL and a pair of sacks at Virginia. Kromah had 1.5 TFL or more in seven games and produced at least a full sack in the same number of contests.
Following his career, Kromah competed in the 99th annual East-West Shrine Bowl.
Kromah is currently signed with the NFL’s Chicago Bears, but the Brahmas would own his UFL rights should he play in the league in 2025.
Additionally, former All-American defensive end Isaac Ukwu (2017-22), who finished his career this past season at Ole Miss, was picked by the Michigan Panthers in the third round with the 22nd overall selection.
