GROTTOES, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The town of Grottoes has a new town manager and he is a familiar face.
At Wednesday night’s town council meeting, Kyle O’Brien was unanimously approved to be the next town manager. Mayor Jo Plaster says she is excited to welcome O’Brien back to Grottoes.
“Kyle brings broad experience as a local government manager in Virginia and Town Council was impressed by the depth of his knowledge and experience, his personal demeanor and his professional approach to working with the Town Council, staff and the community for the betterment of the Town,” Plaster said. “Given his extensive town management background and first-hand knowledge of the town, we are confident that Kyle will hit the ground running from day one and will be a valuable asset to our community for many years to come.”
O’Brien started his local government career in Grottoes, serving three years as Town Manager from 1997 to 2000. He then spent the next 24 years as town manager of Broadway before retiring earlier this year.
O’Brien will begin his service as Grottoes Town Manager on Dec. 2.
