The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch from 5 p.m. until
11 p.m. for the following areas:
Augusta-Rockingham-Page-Albemarle-Greene-Madison-Rappahannock-
Orange-Culpeper-Stafford-Spotsylvania-Southern Fauquier-Northern
Virginia Blue Ridge-Central Virginia Blue Ridge-
Including the cities of Waynesboro, Turnbull, Gordonsville,
Washington, Stuarts Draft, Staunton, Harrisonburg, Culpeper,
Luray, Fredericksburg, Stanley, Shenandoah, Big Meadows,
Falmouth, Orange, Charlottesville, Wintergreen, Stanardsville,
and Madison

 

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Thunderstorms this afternoon and evening could have intense
rain rates exceeding 2 inches per hour. If locally repetitive
or prolonged thunderstorms develop, flash flooding could
occur in flood prone urban and suburban areas.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
