SWOOPE VA: (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Fire and Rescue crews responded swiftly to a structure fire in Augusta County on Wednesday afternoon, successfully containing the blaze without any reported injuries.

The Augusta County Emergency Communications Center dispatched multiple units to the scene after receiving reports of a fire at a residential property off Morris Mill Road in the Swoope area. Upon arrival, first responders observed smoke emerging from the eaves of the home, indicating an active fire within the structure.

Firefighters from the Swoope Volunteer Fire Company were joined by crews from Churchville and Staunton, working in coordination to bring the situation under control. Thanks to their rapid response and teamwork, the fire was extinguished before it could cause more extensive damage or spread to nearby properties.

Emergency personnel remained on-site for several hours to ensure the fire was fully out and to assess the scene for safety. The cause of the fire has not yet been released and is likely under investigation.
