ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The fire broke out around 6 a.m. at a townhome construction site off Boyers Road, causing damage to nearby buildings and vehicles.

The blaze was reported shortly after 6 a.m. at Locust Grove Village, a new residential development in Rockingham County. Fire officials confirmed that the fire was confined to a building still under construction and unoccupied at the time.

Despite being contained to the construction site, the intense heat melted siding on several occupied buildings across the parking lot. Numerous vehicles in the area also sustained damage.

Crews from Hose Company No. 4 and Rockingham County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and worked to extinguish the flames.
