ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A federal class action lawsuit has been filed against Page County Emergency Services.

There are at least a dozen named plaintiffs in the suit that was filed yesterday in U.S. District Court in Harrisonburg.

The suit alleges that the defendant’s systemic policy for failing to pay its employees for all hours worked, including overtime hours, is a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The plaintiffs are seeking, among other things, damages in the amount of all wages that were worked during the entire 2022 Fiscal Year as well as attorney fees.

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that the lawsuit was filed against the Page County Fire Department, when the defendant in this case is actually Page County Fire and EMS. The error has now been corrected.
