BROADWAY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Broadway Town Council has filled the seat previously held by former council member Leslie Fulk.
At Tuesday night’s meeting, the council appointed Elizabeth “Liz” Fawley to finish out the term for Fulk, who resigned last month. She has served on the Town’s planning commission since February.
Fawley told Rocktown Now that several candidates were considered for the appointment.
“I was one of four of them, and I was the one that was chosen and I’m looking forward to being on the committee and working with the people,” Fawley said. “We’ve got a lot of fine people on Broadway, a lot of fine people. I’m all excited about it and looking forward to it.”
A special election will be held in November to fill the council seat for the next term and Fawley has declared her candidacy.
