WEYERS CAVE, VA (Rocktown Now) — On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at approximately 4:10 p.m., the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suicidal male armed with a loaded firearm inside Blue Ridge Community College.

According to a release from Sheriff Donald Smith, deputies responded immediately and arrived on scene at 4:27 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies conducted a canvass of the campus, confirmed the safety and welfare of students and staff, and met with college administration. No threats or issues were identified at the college.

Further investigation revealed that the individual making the call was actually located in Los Angeles, California. The incident was determined to be unfounded, and the call for service was transferred to the Los Angeles Police Department for follow-up.
