ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A jury trial is underway for the former Rockingham County Public Schools teacher who’s accused of abusing children in her care nearly three years ago.
Online records show that Elizabeth Dedrick Davis is facing five felony counts, including three for cruelty to a child, stemming from an incident in September 2021.
Authorities accused her of locking students in a bathroom at Peak View Elementary School for lengthy periods of time as a form of punishment.
Her trial is expected to last up to three days in Rockingham County Circuit Court.
