Evelyn Ruth Good Landes, 83, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Heartland Home in Dayton, where she had been a resident for the past 10 months.
Mrs. Landes was born on October 26, 1940, in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late Marion Samuel and Esther Martin Good. Evelyn had a gift for loving and serving others in many different capacities. She was a caregiver, seamstress, teacher, writer and gardener. She was an active member of Bethany Mennonite Church and the church community.
On May 19, 1961, she married Ralph Elburn Landes, who preceded her in death on June 6, 2023.
Surviving are her children, Rhonda Heatwole and husband Leroy of Elkton, Darrell Landes and wife Crystal of Dayton; siblings, Willis Good and wife Fannie Bell, Raymond Good and wife Alice, Anna Mary Swartz and husband John, Allen Good and wife, Faye; grandchildren, Brandon Heatwole, Aimee Shelley, Melodee Madden, Carmel Eash, Brian Heatwole, Annie Landis, Marla Peachey, Jesse Landes, Katie Landes, Serena Jones, Jenna Landes; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Landes was preceded in death by a daughter, Ramona Berens; brother, Howard Samuel Good,
Minsters of the Church will conduct a funeral service on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Bank Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Bank Mennonite Church.
