HARRISONBURG, Va. (EMU Athletics) – For the second time this cross country season, Bellamy Immanuel has received the honor of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men’s Runner of the Week, per a release from the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Immanuel, a senior from Allentown, Pa., earned an impressive win in the men’s 8k (4.97 miles) at the CNU XC Invitational on Friday, Sept. 13. Immanuel’s winning time of 25:26.67 was more than 20 seconds faster than the runner-up, besting a field with athletes from Division I schools VCU, William & Mary, and Hampton as well as regionally-ranked Division III programs CNU, Salisbury, and Southern Virginia. Friday marked Immanuel’s fifth victory in cross country.
The EMU Cross Country team will lace up their racing shoes again on Saturday, Sept. 28, for the Hornet Harrier Invitational, hosted by Shenandoah University at the Kernstown Battlefield in Winchester, Va. The meet begins with the men’s 8k at 9:30 a.m., followed by the women’s 6k at 10:10 a.m.
