FOREST, Va. (EMU Athletics) – Laila Glymph, a fifth-year senior from Culpeper, Va., got her final college season off to a fast start last weekend, and she has been awarded for it. Glymph has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the opening week of the 2024-25 season, per a release from the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Glymph collected her second career double-double in Saturday’s 54-52 victory over Mary Washington, scoring 22 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Glymph further filled up the stat sheet with two assists, one steal and one block against the Eagles. Glymph added nine points and five rebounds in the 72-67 loss to Notre Dame of Maryland on Friday to average 15.5 ppg and 7.5 rpg across two games. For her efforts, Glymph was also named to the Route 42 Hoops Classic All-Tournament Team.
The EMU Women’s Basketball team returns to action this Friday, Nov. 15 when they take on Bryn Mawr in the Renie Amoss Tip-Off Tournament, hosted by Goucher College in Baltimore, Md. Tip-off against the Owls is scheduled for 6 p.m.
