Ellen Marie Hollar Vanover, 80, a resident of Rockingham, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 her home.

Mrs. Vanover was born on September 7, 1943 in Rockingham and was a daughter of the late Harry Weldon and Ethel Marie Jones Hollar. She attended Dunsmore Business School. She worked at Metro Pants, Hefner Jeweler, J.C. Penny, Belle Meade, Ingleside, Howard Johnson and was a bookkeeper at Goods Transfer. A talented artist, hundreds of people have her artwork. She had a love for traveling, camping, golfing, and .

her friendships. She was compassionate about artwork, flowers, birds and all animals.

On November 23, 1995, she married Michael John Vanover who survives.

Also surviving are her children, Tessa Stone Morrow of Timberville, Tara Stone Kiser of Clover Hill, Amberlee Nicole Christey of Morgantown, WV; sisters, Peggy Hollar Harper of Hinton; Donna Heatwole of Stephens City, Betty Seay of Hinton, Jenny Hollar of Lacey Spring; and grandchildren, Summer Stone Barrix and Chase Ryan Barrix.
