ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – It is two and a half years in jail for the Elkton woman who caused a fatal crash earlier this year.
According to online records, Debra Lynn Elliot, 66, pleaded guilty to a pair of felony charges during a hearing Monday morning in Rockingham County Circuit Court.
Those charges include involuntary manslaughter involving alcohol and possession of a Schedule I or II drug.
A judge then sentenced the Elliot to 10 years in prison with seven and a half of those years suspended.
It all stemmed from an incident on April 16 in the 5500 block of Bryant Hollow Road.
That was when Dymond Thacker, 34, of Broadway was riding on top of her car, fell off and then was struck. Thacker died at the scene.
