TROY, Ala. (JMU Athletics) – Cali Legzdin homered twice, and Kirsten Fleet threw her second complete game in as many days to power the James Madison softball team to the Sun Belt Conference championship game on Friday afternoon at the Troy Softball Complex.

With the win, JMU (28-25) advances to the Sun Belt Conference Championship game to face No. 7 seed Coastal Carolina on Saturday, May 10 on ESPN2. The Dukes took two of three from the Chanticleers earlier this season in Conway, S.C.

The Dukes totaled four runs on seven hits, led by Legzdin, who finished 2-for-3 at the plate with two homers and three RBI.

In the circle, Fleet scattered four ULM (35-22) hits across seven innings while striking out a batter and yielding just two runs on a two-run homer from Morgan Brown in the bottom of the sixth.

Freshman Raegan Wall aided in the offensive effort, going 1-for-3 with her fourth triple of the season, while Abbie Campbell went 1-for-2 with a walk. Wall also scored the third run of the game for the Dukes, running home on a wild pitch.

Kylee Gleason, Reed Butler and Lily Romero also tallied hits against the Warhawks pitching tandem of Victoria Abrams and Dakota Lake.

How It Happened
First Inning
• Cali Legzdin sent a ball over the left field fence for a two-run homer to put the Dukes on top 2-0

Fourth Inning
• After Wall tripled, a wild pitch brought her home from third to extend the lead 3-0

Fifth Inning
• Legzdin homered again to left field, her second of the day for a 4-0 lead

Sixth Inning
• Morgan Brown cut the lead in half with a two-run home run to center field, 4-2

Game Notes
• James Madison advanced to the Sun Belt Conference Championship game for the first time since joining the conference in 2023. The Dukes improved to 4-2 in SBC tournament games.
• The championship game appearance is JMU’s first since playing in the CAA title game in 2021. Overall, the Dukes are 6-4 in previous title game appearances.
• Legzdin’s two-homer game is the first from a JMU player since Bella Henzler on March 10, 2024, against Binghamton.
• It was also her 15th multi-hit and sixth multi-RBI performances of 2025
• Fleet pitched complete games on back-to-back days for the second time this season. The right-hander went the distance against Bucknell and Penn State on Feb. 28- March 1
• The sophomore also boasts the most wins (13) by a JMU pitcher since Alissa Humphrey had 14 in 2021
• The Dukes hit two or more home runs for the 12th time this season
