Donald Lee Ritchie, 75, of Fulks Run, died March 30, 2024 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.

He was born June 16, 1948 in Rockingham County and was a son to the late Herman D. “Paul” and Virginia Sherman Ritchie.

Donnie retired from VDOT as a transportation operator.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran (May 1968-December 1969) stationed at the Korean DMZ during the Vietnam War and was a registered sniper.  He was a member of the Feedstone Hunt Club.  Some of his hobbies included; bear hunting, houndsman, avid outdoorsman, woodworking and skilled carpentry and keeping up with his sharp shooting skills.  Donnie was a proud Ford Bronco owner and motorcyclist.

Surviving him are a daughter; Katie Gerstenmaier and husband Dalton, of Broadway, a son; Dylan Ritchie and wife Lindsey, of Harrisonburg, two grandchildren; Caroline and Brooks “Spud” Gerstenmaier, of Broadway, two brothers; Richard Ritchie and wife Darlene, of Fulks Run, Larry Ritchie and wife Tammy, of Colonial Beach, twin sister; Dorothy Lively and husband Sonny, of Linville, girlfriend; LaBreeska Brown, of Fulks Run and a number of nephews and cousins.

Pastor Glen Turner will conduct a memorial service will be held 10 AM Saturday at Mtn. Grove Church of the Brethren in Fulks Run. Following the memorial service, a potluck meal Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM with the location to be announced at the church.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
